"They're coming to get you, Barbra..."

No, Johnny, they're coming to get you, you disrespectful douche.

As George A. Romero's revolutionary Night of the Living Dead starts, we find siblings Johnny (Russell Streiner) and Barba (Judith O'Dea) at their father's gravesite to pay their respects. The only thing is, Johnny couldn't get a single solitary sh*t about being there, and he's soon teasing his sister as a ropey-looking old man stumbles towards her.

Of course, this old fella would actually be a 'ghoul' who was intent on tearing the flesh from the bones of this brother and sister duo.

For Johnny, he's attacked and killed, with his head crashing down onto a gravestone after a tussle with this undead sort. That's when Barbra has her big moment of realisation, as her brother's lifeless body lays slumped on the grass and this ghoul lunges towards her.

Barbra would make a dash for her car, end up at a farmhouse, and that perfectly set the stall for what was to come from Romero's truly excellent Night of the Living Dead; a film that is so often cited as being the birthplace of what would become more commonly known as the zombie.
