10 Best 90s Teen Horror Movies You Need To Watch

6. The Craft

Urban Legend
Columbia Pictures

One of the definining films of 90s horror cinema, The Craft inspired a whole generation of Goths and wannabe witches. This high school horror film follows new girl Sarah (Robin Tunney) as she struggles adjusting to life at a Los Angeles Catholic high school. Falling in with a gang of would-be witches, Sarah learns to control her ever-growing telekinetic powers, while also trying to stay cool with the clique. Standard high school stuff, you know.

The horror movie precursor to Mean Girls, Andrew Fleming's The Craft is an iconic work of teenage cinema, and features great performances from leads Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell and Rachel True. Keep an eye out too, for Campbell's Scream co-star Skeet Ulrich, among the cast's other teenagers.

The story is to be rebooted for a new generation in this year's Blumhouse sequel/reboot The Craft: Legacy. It's unlikely to have the same impact as this though, one of the few witch-based horror films worth watching.
