Make no mistake about it, 2015 was a great year for blockbuster cinema. While Jupiter Ascending, Fifty Shades of Grey and Terminator Genisys may have been terrible, big-budget studio filmmaking still enjoyed a banner year thanks to the likes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Furious 7, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, Kingsman: The Secret Service and Mad Max: Fury Road to name but five. Looking back, it would even be fair to say that last year was one of the best ever when it came to the sheer volume of spectacular action scenes that Hollywood's blockbuster behemoths delivered, even when the rest of the movie itself wasn't quite up to scratch. Movies like Spectre, Jurassic World and San Andreas are hardly going to be remembered as all-time classics in the future, but each served up plenty of eye-popping set-pieces. However, the less said about Liam Neeson's hilarious attempts at running in Taken 3, the better... With that in mind, this article will rank the ten best action sequences from 2015's crop of blockbuster movies. In what was a great year for action cinema, it was no easy task to narrow it down to just ten in what could easily have been a list that featured twenty or more scenes, there was simply that many to choose from. Drawn from a variety of genres including sci-fi, spy, superhero and the straight-up action blockbuster, these are the best of the best.
