10 Best Anime Movies Not Made By Studio Ghibli
7. Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train
If you haven't jumped on the bandwagon and started watching Demon Slayer yet, then you'd better bust out your Netflix accounts and head over to it right after finishing this list. It's an excellent series with luscious animation, fun characters and a movie that will get your blood (and tears) pumping.
Mugen Train occurs directly after the events of the first season of the show. Tanjiro, Nesuko, Inouske and Zenitsu (all Demon Slayers) meet up with a high-ranking slayer known as the Flame Hashida Senjuro Rengoku on the titular train. There, they battle against a demon who has been attacking and manipulating the passengers.
As you can tell from that description, the plot is very straightforward, but that doesn't mean it's a smooth ride. The flick toys around with everything from fist-pumping action to metaphysical elements to character development. It's full of memorable moments thanks to the dream sequences and the main villain's incredible powers. Plus, the ending even chucks some emotional consequences in for good measure.
It's easily one of the best anime-movie tie-ins, thanks to its densely packed runtime, the direct continuation of the Demon Slayer story, and the chance to see the show's luscious animation in cinematic form.
