10 Best Back From The Dead Moments In Horror Movies

1. Back From The Dead - The Lazarus Effect

The Lazarus Effect
Blumhouse

Although often hailed as a weak pastiche of 80s classic horror Flatliners, the 2015 David Gelb-helmed supernatural thriller The Lazarus Effect certainly has a top concept that fits very neatly into this list.

The Lazarus Effect stars Mark Duplass as Frank and Olivia Wilde as Zoe, a couple of medical researchers who unwittingly discover a special serum that brings the dead back to life. The couple and their friends attempt to revive a dead dog. They successfully bring the dog back to life but soon notice that it has undergone some noticeable changes, including peculiar abilities.

It's discovered that the serum is not only reviving the dead but creating new synapses in the brain, resulting in the patient gaining special psychic abilities. After a horrific accident in the lab, Zoe dies, and Frank decides to bring her back with the serum. Over time the newly resurrected Zoe begins acting strangely as her brain evolves.

It’s a moment that has audiences screaming at the screen, asking why!? Even knowing the potential consequences of doing so wouldn’t compare to Frank’s grief. Inevitably, Zoe gained enhanced powers such as telepathy and telekinesis. Butt also increased rage and anger and she killed anyone who got in her way.
