You simply cannot celebrate Christmas without spending part of the holidays with the Griswold family. There's no end to classic scenes in this movie: Clark Griswold's struggle to put on the ultimate Christmas light display, the sewer scene, the wrapped up cat, the opening scene of the family station wagon stuck under a big rig, and the ice smashing through neighbour Julia Louis-Dreyfus' living room... and that's just a small sampling. Joke for joke, no Christmas movie delivers more than Christmas vacation. It's the ultimate guy's Christmas movie for a reason, too. Frankly, there's a little Clark Griswold in everyone. You all want the perfect Christmas, not just for yourself, but for your families - but with all that pressure added to the stress that comes in the holiday season, well, it's just a formula for disaster - one that ends in taking your boss hostage when the holiday bonus is cancelled.
