Trey Parker and Matt Stone had earned huge success and acclaim for the magnificent South Park - it's still going strong to this day - and their venture into cinema with 2004's hysterical Team America: World Police was equally clever and amusing. The film pokes fun at numerous things, from celebrity culture to foreign policy, and it's controversial nature makes it even more enjoyable. Team America are an anti-terrorism force, and when a key member is fatally shot following a shootout with terrorists in Paris, in which the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and The Louvre are all destroyed, Broadway actor Gary Johnston is recruited in his place. The key part of the movie is set around Team America attempting to stop former North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il from blowing up the world, with hilarious consequences. There is singing, violence and memorable one-liners - the "Matt Damon" running joke is immature but brilliant - and there is no doubting that Parker and Stone's masterpiece is one of the best satirical comedies of the 21st century. Their decision to make their characters unashamedly Thunderbirds-esque is the icing on the cake.
