Wedding Crashers is a film thought of incredibly fondly by many, but there is still a nagging feeling that it is criminally underrated when compared with other comedies of its era. The 2005, David Dobkin-directed laugh-fest is both Vaughn and Owen Wilson's finest moment, and sees some great comedy performances from the supporting cast too. John Beckwith (Wilson) and Jeremy Grey (Vaughn), two divorce lawyers and best friends in their 30s, are a sleazy duo who turn up uninvited to weddings in order to sleep with women. They make up fake characters for each wedding, blagging their way into proceedings in the process. They eventually crash the wedding of the daughter of the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury (Christopher Walken), which is when the fun really begins. John falls for one of the bride's sisters (Rachel McAdams) while another (Isla Fisher) becomes infatuated with Jeremy. The two men end up spending the weekend at the girls' family home, which leads to much hilarity. Vaughn and Wilson have great on-screen chemistry together, while the performances of Walken, McAdams, Fisher and Bradley Cooper, as Claire's vile boyfriend, are all memorable too. The film never runs out of steam, and keeps going until an excellent finale. The American Football game is a particular highlight. Weddings Crashers is a classic of its time and will hold its own for many years to come.
