The Movies: X-Men (2000), X-Men 2 (2003), Superman Returns (2006), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) In light of the recent allegations currently facing Bryan Singer, his otherwise impressive resume has taken something of a beating. Whether or not said allegations are true... well, only time will tell. That said, Singer has proven himself as something of a master when it comes to directing comic book movies, despite the fact that - before X-Men - he admitted to knowing very little about them. So Singer has directed four comic book films since his first gave us X-Men in 2000, a movie that - along with Spider-Man in 2002 - helped to advance the genre. Because X-Men and its sequel, X2, convinced Hollywood that comic book adaptations were creatively viable, technologically possible and - most importantly - marketable. It's a tribute to Singer's talents that the X-Men franchise began to fall apart when he decided to jump ship in favour of directing his own Superman film over at Warner Bros., and although that film wasn't exactly the success we all hoped it would be, it remains interesting on its own terms. And now, he's made what is arguably his best film ever in sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past.
