10 Best Dog Movies

1. Marley & Me (2008)

Lady And The Tramp
20th Century Fox

And here we have the quintessential movie about owning and raising a dog. Marley & Me especially hits home for those who are first time pet owners and don’t know what they’re doing when it comes to raising a puppy. It shows you that your dog could be worse. It shows you that frankly, you as a pet owner could be doing a worse job. But most of all, it conveys the impact and joy a pooch can have on your life and how you’ll love them, no matter what they do.

The story begins as newlyweds John and Jennifer Grogan move to Florida and decide to adopt a puppy – a Labrador Retriever which they name Marley. As first-time pet owners, they seem to be making constant mistakes with their new dog, especially as he is an exceptionally energetic and mischievous animal. Although Marley never loses his naughty spirit, he remains loyal and great company for the Grogan family, in whatever stage of life they’re going through.

Most people know the final conclusion of Marley & Me, even if they haven’t seen it. But it will always hit home as one of the most tragic, hard-hitting endings of all time. It's a gentle reminder to cherish the time you have with your pet, even if they seem like 'the worst dog in the world'.
