10 Best Final Lines From MCU Characters
1. "I... Am... Iron Man" - Iron Man
The Line
"I... am... Iron Man."
Why It's Awesome
"I am Iron Man" are the immortal words uttered by Tony Stark at the end of the original Iron Man film, opting to cut through the nonsense of superhero secret identities and straight-up outing himself as Iron Man during a press conference.
And so it's fitting that the character's dying words more than a decade later were very much the same. After Thanos readies the Infinity Gauntlet and tells Stark, "I am inevitable," Stark reveals that he's stolen the Infinity Stones with his Nano Gauntlet.
A battle-worn, tired Stark retorts with a breathy "I... am... Iron Man" before snapping his own finger, in turn disintegrating Thanos and his army but causing himself terminal injuries in the process due to the Gauntlet's power.
This line brought Iron Man full circle in his most glorious, heroic moment, even if it also sadly happened to be his very last.
As a salve, though, we technically got to hear some extra words from Tony beyond the grave at his funeral, telling his daughter Morgan (Lexi Rabe) "I love you 3000" with his final recording.
