10 Best Harry Potter Characters Who Only Appeared In One Movie
Lockhart, Crouch, Fluffy - These short-lived Harry Potter characters left a huge impression.
Some people are here for a good time, not a long time.
The Harry Potter movies boast a real hodgepodge of memorable roles. It's a fantasy franchise that lived and died by its rich mythology, and the wealth of significant leading/supporting parts helped solidify that.
As the characters' lives evolved, so too did the style and stakes of the series. This kept the plot moving forward but also allowed for plenty of one-off characters to make appearances.
Many roles were introduced throughout the eight flicks to bring something fresh to the story and in many cases pose a different threat to our leads. Most of these new characters would become regulars, helping to expand the series' roster, but that wasn't the case for all of them.
While the following characters might not have attained tenures in the Wizarding World, they still made a massive impact. Some of them left the series for legitimate reasons - such as death or humiliation - but others felt like missed opportunities for further development.
Either way, no matter the reason for their departure, it's safe to say they proved the validity of the phrase "quality over quantity".

10. Barty Crouch Sr.
One of the most interesting dynamics in the Potter series was the connection between Hogwarts and the Ministry of Magic.
Seeing the governmental system force its practices on the more enlightened school always caused some exciting conflicts, and Barty Crouch Senior's role in Goblet of Fire was a great example of this.
This figure arrived as a representative for the Ministry in the Tri-Wizards Cup and brought plenty of concern for procedure and tradition with him. Ultimately, his attempts to keep everything in order only served to confuse the tournament more, and his ruthless past became a significant factor within the plot.
In addition to the character's interesting place in the movie, he was played wonderfully by the late great Roger Lloyd Pack, who gave the role an overtly serious yet comical tone, thanks to his stubbornness and inability to go against the rules.
The character's death was a little disappointing, as it never got a full reveal. In the books he's killed at the hands of his son and the movie alludes to this, but doesn't give a full explanation. It's unfortunate that he went out in such a lacklustre way, but at least fans could enjoy him before his demise.
