Apparently, Michael Bay was so proud of the carnage he had created for The Island's signature set-piece that he was more than happy to recycle some of the footage for a similar scene in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

The sci-fi misfire may not be regarded as one of the filmmaker's better movies, but the highway sequence remains one of the best examples of Bayhem to ever grace our screens, with the man behind Bad Boys II and The Rock proving that he hadn't forgotten how to make things go boom in spectacular fashion.

The trappings of the genre allowed Bay to add some futuristic new flourishes to his instantly-recognizable and very particular method of vehicular carnage, as he once again went out of his way to literally throw everything possible at the screen.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
