10 Best Horror Movie Creature Feature Movies Since 2010

8. Shin Godzilla

The Shallows
Toho

When it comes to creatures and monsters of the movie world, few are quite as forever popular as Godzilla.

The famed King of the Monsters has had so many film outings over the decades, with a healthy mixture of impressive offerings and utter stinkers in amongst the mix since that first Godzilla movie way back in 1954. When it comes to the more impressive pictures for this most iconic of kaiju, 2016's Shin Godzilla is easily one of the best Big G films of recent memory.

Featuring far more interesting and engaging human characters than Legendary's 2014 big-budget Godzilla, Shin Godzilla is a well balanced movie with numerous intertwining plot points at play. Where that '14 film was all sizzle and minimal steak, Toho's Shin Godzilla was a more modest effort that delivered plenty more bang for its buck.

With great monster fight sequences, a solid political angle, countless nods and winks to the movies of the past, and a fresh feeling reinvention of a classic beast, Shin Godzilla is more than worthy of a spot on this list of the great creature features of the past ten years.
