10 Best Horror Movie Creature Feature Movies Since 2010

6. Willow Creek

In 2014's Willow Creek, the creature front-and-centre is the famed bigfoot.

From actor-turned-filmmaker Bobcat Goldthwait - best known as the Police Academy franchise's Zed before crafting an impressive career for himself as a writer/director - this is a movie that takes the myth of bigfoot and puts it under the microscope by utilising a found footage approach to its tale.

Willow Creek isn't just a great creature feature, it's a great horror film, period. Very much taking a less is more outlook to telling its story, this is a picture that often shies away from showing any sort of actual beastie - instead opting to leave things to the imagination of the viewer.

Even by the time Willow Creek comes to a close, it's very much left to the audience to make up their own mind on just exactly what they've seen and whether there really is a bigfoot out there stalking the woods of North California. Think of this as what would happen if The Blair Witch Project centred around a sasquatch as opposed to exploring a purported supernatural, sinister witch figure.

Of all of the movies featured here, Willow Creek may be the one must under the radar - but it's a movie that's well worth hunting down.
