Although Nicolas Cage has played many dramatic roles, the actor is also known for giving some of most brilliantly over-the-top performances, especially within the horror genre. And one of Cage's latest is profoundly creepy serial killer Longlegs in Osgood Perkins’ film of the same name.
The plot follows fresh-faced FBI agent Lee Harker investigating a series of grisly and mysterious murders. She believes the killer is the same strange man who visited her when she was a child, with events only becoming more sinister as she uncovers the truth about what’s going on.
Cage is a tour de force of terror here. Even before audiences get a glimpse of his face, his peculiar way of speaking and mannerisms cement him as an unsettling presence.
