10 Best Horror Movie Remakes

1. Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1978)

InvasionBased On: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) Are you ready for a major claim to be dropped right here and now? The 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers may be the best horror movie of all-time. Directed by Philip Kaufman and starring Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams, Veronica Cartwright, Leonard Nimoy, and also featuring Jeff Goldblum, Invasion of the Body Snatchers replaces the contrived fear of Communism of the original with the more direct fear of having your body literally taken over by alien forces. In Invasions, San Francisco is terrorized by "pod people" and like all of the best horror movies, there can be no happy ending. The screeching sounds made by the aliens in the film may seem funny at first, but as the film progresses the brutal reality of the world takeover makes laughing at high-pitched noises seem quaint.Invasion of the Body Snatchers isn't only scary, it's emotionally draining. The characters are actually likable and three dimensional, so you actually want to see them succeed rather than get chopped to bits (or in this case consumed by a pod). It's a brilliant film, and probably the best remake of any kind. Any movies that got left out? Let us know in the comments.
