10 Best Horror Movie Villains From The 70s

9. Dr. Frank-N-Furter - The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

Texas Chainsaw Leatherface
Fox

You'll very rarely find a horror movie villain as eccentric and strikingly stylish as Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Portrayed magnificently by Tim Curry on Broadway and on film, he took the character and owned it as it were really him.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show remains one of the most bizarre cinematic viewings you'll ever experience. After a young couple's car breaks down, they go to a nearby country home to seek out a telephone, unknowing they're about to enter into a convention filled with vivid costuming and punk rock fashion.

Sure, the film adaptation isn't perfect but it's more than worth watching for the show stealing Frank-N-Furter. Posing as a mad scientist who is actually an alien transvestite, he has the unusual goal of creating the perfect man. Paradoxically, his persona is unsettling but somehow enticing too.
