10 Best Joker Movie Moments

1. The Interrogation (The Dark Knight)

The director himself, Christopher Nolan, has stated that this is his favourite scene in the film, and it's not hard to see why. It gives audiences everything we love about the Joker - the laughter, the compelling psychotic dialogue, and the fact that he can push Batman's buttons like nobody else can.

Who's actually interrogating who here?

Throughout the film, we get the sense that The Joker is exactly where he wants to be at all times, and even when trapped in a police building, that feeling doesn't vanish. Captured by Commissioner Gordon, the clown questions Batman's morality, his state of mind and the integrity of the very citizens that he works to protect. With a few simple sentences, The Joker is able to get under Batman's skin - and this is his superpower.

He doesn't need guns, knives, fists or batarangs. He can play you like a puppet and use your emotions to his benefit. Sure, he's violent when he needs to be - but he doesn't ever need to be. He can take down Batman with the power of speech, and that's why The Joker is, and forever will be, Batman's greatest foe.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
