The bass flute gun from Rogue Nation is a piece of ingenious covert engineering that even Francisco Scaramanga would be envious of.

Much as it sounds, the flute gun is a sniper rifle cleverly disguised as a musical instrument. Designed to pass security checks and scanners, the weapon allows its user to gain heavily armed access to high-security places without alerting any suspicion.

In the film, the gun is smuggled into the Vienna State Opera by an assassin for mysterious global terrorist body, the Syndicate. After a fistfight amongst the stage rigging, during a performance of Turandot, Ethan prevents the woodwind-wielding assassin from killing the Austrian Chancellor and uses the weapon to foil an assassination attempt by a further two snipers.
