4. John Turturro

Having appeared in over 60 films, John Turturro has shown himself to be one of the more malleable actors working today, having played a multitude of bizarre minor characters as well as a number of effective leading roles. His first major role was in Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing, a movie that launched an ongoing partnership between the actor and the director. Turturro has also been a longtime collaborator with the Coen Brothers, which has resulted in many of his best roles, including the lead role in Barton Fink and memorable minor characters in The Big Lebowski and O Brother Where Art Thou. Equally comfortable in both drama and comedy, Turturro generally plays eccentric types, something that suits him well when he partners with the Coens.
