10 Best Movie Character Introductions Of All Time

7. Jules And Vincent (Pulp Fiction)

Hannibal Silence of the Lambs
Miramax

Pulp Fiction opens with a couple of suits in a car talking about random crap. The dialogue may be razor sharp, but this is just a pair of colleagues discussing everything from the differences between US and European fast food, and drug laws in Holland.

The casualness of Jules And Vincent's conversation belies what these characters are revealed to be in the very next sequence: hitmen on their way to a job.

When this dapper duo take out a bunch of people who double crossed their employer in a storm of gunfire, Pulp Fiction reveals its true nature and warns the viewer to expect the unexpected from here on in.

Thanks to the chemistry between John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson, most fans would have been happy to listen to them talk fast food for the duration of the movie. The fact this scene leads into an explosive action sequence is merely a bonus.
