10 Best Movie Prequels Ever

3. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith

Temple Of Doom Black Sleep

Some people may poke fun at The Phantom Menace, others may label Attack of the Clones the worst movie in the entire Star Wars saga, but it's completely unfair to throw Revenge of the Sith into the same pile as its two predecessors.

Yes, Revenge of the Sith is a sequel, but it's also a prequel to the greatest trilogy in the history of cinema. And more importantly, Revenge of the Sith is a damn fine movie.

Overflowing with conflict, angst, and the realisation of long-planned political power plays, Episode III is the culmination of so many story strands, yet simultaneously is the jump-off point for so many other story strands that we know are to come.

The colour palette of the film is stunning, the performances (for the most part...) are fantastic, and the story itself is a roller coaster of a ride that you know can only end in tragedy. When looking at the components that make up a great Star Wars movie, Revenge of the Sith ticks all of the right boxes.

As for The Phantom Menace, seriously, that's not as bad as the internet will have you believe. Attack of the Clones? Err, yeah, there's no defence for that one.
