5. Lena Headey - Dredd

A recurring theme in Game Of Thrones is the way in which its characters deceive and manipulate in order to achieve their goals - openness and honesty are not qualities they tend to exhibit or value, and this applies perhaps the most to Cersei Lannister, played in the television series by Lena Headey.

Lannister's villainous credentials are extensive, but Headey's character in the action sci-fi movie Dredd certainly gives the former Queen of the Seven Kingdoms a run for her money in the evil department. Here she plays futuristic drug lord Ma-Ma, a psychopathic villain barely recognisable beneath her scar-covered face not averse to skinning people alive.

Dredd has often been compared to The Raid: Redemption due to the near-identical plots, and while it doesn't quite match it when it comes to adrenaline-fuelled action it's certainly a huge improvement over Stallone's previous Judge Dredd movie, and Headey's deliriously over-the-top performance compliments the non-stop action perfectly.
