10 Best Movies Starring Justice League Actors

4. Arrival (Amy Adams)

Arrival confirmed Denis Villeneuve to be one of the best filmmakers working today (something he bolstered even further with this year's Blade Runner 2049), delivering an ambitious, patient sci-fi drama that effortlessly skirts past the usual alien invasion cliches.

Taking a deep dive into the nature of language while giving Amy Adams one of the best roles of her career (and one she absolutely should've won an Oscar for), Arrival could so easily have been a coolly detached, Kubrickian sci-fi, but there's also a beating heart in the middle, too, one which pays off superbly with a viscerally shattering climax.

Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker also do fine work in a challenging but extremely satisfying film that's perfectly balanced between the demands of Hollywood blockbusters and the desires of "art-house" cinema. A masterpiece.
