10 Best Movies Where We Meet The Villain First

7. A Clockwork Orange

There are few movies, if any, that are quite like A Clockwork Orange. Adapted from the 1962 novel of the same name by Anthony Burgess, and brought to the screen by the genius mind of Stanley Kubrick, the movie has found itself in the realms of the legendary since 1971.

It has had a lot of publicity and discussion over the last 50 years, and not all of it in a positive light. Its excessive and often unprovoked violence, depictions of sexual assault, and even the famous therapy technique were all too disturbing for many people.

At the heart of it all was Malcolm McDowell’s Alex DeLarge. Very much the driving force behind much of what has made the movie so infamous over the years, DeLarge has become an iconic villain, and it all started with the very first scene of the movie. That iconic image.

There is something incredibly creepy about seeing Alex in the famous, undeniably disturbing costume, staring out the camera for a good 90 seconds. It’s sinister, it sets the tone for the whole movie, and it is one of the most memorable moments of the classic film even now.
