10. Cadaver

Just one of the many promising international horrors this year is Cadaver, a post-nuclear dystopian film hailing from Norway. One of only a couple of Norwegian Netflix Originals, the story follows a destitute family as they are invited into a hotel with the promise of food and a show.

The hotel owner informs attendees that the entire building is the stage for his production, and they have to wear creepy bronzed masks to distinguish themselves from the actors- which is weird as it is, never mind when people suddenly start disappearing.

Mainly working on shorts, it’s only director Jarand Herdal’s second venture into feature films since his 2013 ‘Everywhen’. With a few successful Norwegian series streaming right now on Netflix, it’ll be interesting to see how well this original film stands up against them.
