Almost a decade after he wielded stop-motion animation like a master in Fantastic Mr Fox, Wes Anderson is revisiting the format for his latest film, Isle of Dogs.

Its debut trailer has just landed, and it looks fetching, to say the least. The movie takes place in a near-future Japan where dogs have been exiled to a vast, offshore garbage dump called Trash Island.

The story follows a young boy named Atari Kobayashi, who sets off alone on a journey to rescue his canine bodyguard, Spots, from the floating rubbish tip.

Not only is Isle of Dogs visually stunning, it also boasts a stellar voice cast headed up by Bryan Cranston, Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson and Edward Norton.
