The Gerard Butler-fronted disaster flick, which is actually helmed by Dean Devlin, takes place in a near-future where weather-controlling satellites have malfunctioned, unleashing a special effects-laden apocalypse on the world.

Geostorm's latest trailer has landed, and there's no sheltering from it. The footage promises a pulpy blockbuster that's heavy on action massive set pieces, and light on script, but no doubt that will be its biggest appeal for some.

Abbie Cornish, Ed Harris and Andy Garcia will join Butler in this one when it storms into cinemas next month.
