On family:

“There are all sorts of different families, Katie. Some families have one mommy, some families have one daddy, or two families. And some children live with their uncle or aunt. Some live with their grandparents, and some children live with foster parents. And some live in separate homes, in separate neighborhoods, in different areas of the country — and they may not see each other for days, or weeks, months… even years at a time. But if there’s love, dear… those are the ties that bind, and you’ll have a family in your heart, forever.”

According to Daniel Hillard, nothing quite says, “I love you” like donning a wig, a fake bosom and a pair of pantyhose.

As the father of three children, Daniel is deeply attached to his offspring like any other father would be, but he is no ordinary parent, and is willing to go to extreme lengths to spend time with them.

Adopting a dress for all occasions and a questionable Scottish accent, the desperate divorcee re-enters his family home disguised as a nanny, in a bid to create a new life with his ex-wife and kids.

Mrs. Doubtfire was labelled a tribute to fathers and fatherhood, but the core message is actually about family, and the way in which love and respect will always endure because those are the ties that bind.
