10 Best Scenes From 2018's Summer Blockbusters

1. The Snap - Avengers: Infinity War

Was anything else ever going to take the #1 spot? Avengers: Infinity War concluded with one of the most shocking and brilliantly-executed moments from any superhero movie. Ever.

After a gallant attempt by The Avengers to stop Thanos (Josh Brolin) acquiring all of the Infinity Stones, he manages to remove the Mind Stone from Vision's (Paul Bettany) head and, after a last ditch attack from Thor (Chris Hemsworth), snaps his finger.

The result sees half the universe turn to dust, beginning with many of our beloved Avengers themselves: Bucky (Sebastian Stan), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Groot (Vin Diesel), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Drax (Dave Bautista), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and, worst of all, Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

It's an impeccably written, directed and acted sequence, especially Peter Parker's devastatingly sad demise in Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) arms. And to make things even more wrenching, the film's final shot shows Thanos contentedly enjoying a sunrise after a hard day's annihilatin'.

Avengers 4's will need to be absolutely mind-blowing to live up to this shattering finale, that's for sure.
