10 Best Scenes When Evil Movie Characters Turned Good
4. Deckard Shaw - The Fate Of The Furious
In the eyes of many, Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) committed the most cardinal sin of the entire Fast and the Furious franchise - killing fan favourite character Han Lue (Sung Kang). Or so it seemed, until the first trailer for Fast 9 dropped.
Shaw appeared in Furious 7 as the primary antagonist, but after being captured at the end, returned in The Fate of the Furious as a reluctant ally to Dom's (Vin Diesel) crew.
Shaw spends most of the film riffing off against Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), though until the third act of the movie, you'd be hard-pressed to call him anything more than an ambiguous anti-hero.
That all changes, however, when Deckard and his brother Owen (Luke Evans) team up to assault Cipher's (Charlize Theron) plane. This leads to the outrageously entertaining sequence where Deckard rescues Dom's infant son while murdering Cipher's goons.
If that ain't redemption, what is? Yes, it's totally ridiculous that the gang are willing to put up with Shaw despite him seemingly murdering Han in cold blood, but by saving Dom's baby in a pinch, he surely did enough to redeem years of terrible behaviour.
