Demon in a Bottle is one of the greatest Marvel comic book storylines of all-time. A hard hitting arc which dealt with Tony Stark's alcoholism, it could have been adapted by the studio in any number of ways. The main reason for this is the fact that the story is packed full of great material which would be ideal for the big screen. Unfortunately, their very loose adaptation of the classic story added up to little more than some drunken party antics and a fight between Iron Man and his best friend! With a young audience, it's understandable why Marvel were reluctant to delve too far into Tony's drinking problem, but to dismiss it altogether feels insulting. By the time The Avengers and Iron Man 3 rolled around, any signs of Tony's drinking problem were gone, robbing you of what could have been a really meaningful and inspiring arc for Robert Downey Jr. to dive head first into. Perhaps fans will get to see this in a "dark" reboot of the franchise in the future? Yeah, probably not.
