10 Biggest MCU Controversies Ever

8. Kamala Khan's Powers Change - Ms. Marvel

Though the Disney+ Ms. Marvel series was generally well received by fans for its unique visual style and cultural specificity, comic book purists were nevertheless left infuriated at the changes made to Kamala Khan's (Iman Vellani) power set.

In the comics, Ms. Marvel could "embiggen" herself to enlarge and extend her limbs, torso, and neck, as well as being able to change her overall body size in a manner similar to Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), and shapeshift into both other people and inanimate objects.

In the show, however, her powers are markedly different: using a magic bangle, Kamala is able to harness cosmic energy and create crystalline, hard light constructs, such as giant fists and platforms for traversal.

Kevin Feige stated that Kamala's powers were changed from the comics due to continuity concerns in the MCU, and while Feige seems to be implying that the power change will make more sense in the future - likely with the release of next year's The Marvels - at present it still feels like an odd deviation from the source material.

Hopefully the changes will end up feeling justified, but at present it's hard not to lament Kamala's less-impressive on-screen powers.
