10 Biggest Mistakes Made By MCU Heroes

9. Steve's Secrecy

It's never easy to tell someone that your childhood best friend might have killed their parents. So, it's understandable why Steve Rogers failed to tell Tony that Howard and Maria Stark had been murdered by HYDRA, and that there was a possibility that Bucky had been involved.

Nevertheless, Tony undeniably deserved to know the truth about how his parents had died, and Steve himself confessed at the end of Civil War that his motivation for hiding the truth had ultimately been selfish.

Instead of learning the truth from a friend and being given time to process it, Tony found out when the vengeful Baron Zemo showed him video footage of the brutal killings. Unsurprisingly, he didn't take the news well, and almost murdered Bucky in retaliation.

While Bucky survived the vicious fight at the climax of Civil War, it destroyed Tony's trust in Steve and left a painful schism between them. This ensured that the Avengers would be divided and disorganised when Thanos made his play for the Infinity Stones.
