2. Yashida - The Wolverine
In the "ungrateful a**hole" stakes, there aren't any bigger pricks this cinematic year than Yashida, the soldier who is saved by Wolverine during the bombing of Nagasaki. In the present, an elderly Yashida requests Logan's presence in Tokyo, in order to say goodbye to him before he dies. However, Yashida actually wishes to receive Logan's powers in order to cure his cancer, something Logan is none too enthusiastic about. Yashida seemingly dies the next day, and he's gone for the vast majority of the movie. However, at the end Logan faces off against the Silver Samurai, who begins extracting Logan's healing abilities, just as Yashida reveals himself alive and (not so) well within the armour. He begins to become youthful as the healing takes effect, yet Yashida's granddaughter Mariko (Tao Okamoto) steps in and kills Yashida, saving Logan. I mean, the guy already saved his life once - talk about ungrateful...
