10 Biggest Movie Set Meltdowns Ever

A marijuana-fuelled mishap involving a young Jerry O'Connell shut down the production of coming-of-age drama Stand By Me for two days back in 1985.

His co-star Kiefer Sutherland revealed all about this incident during an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel show. Apparently, O'Connell ditched filming one day to slink off to a fair, but it turned out to be a very different fair than the ones he was used to.

There was no Ferris wheel or candy floss in sight, as this was one of those free-love hippy fests. The only ride he ended up going on was the trip he experienced after devouring enough pot-infused cookies to subdue Seth Rogen.

Stand By Me's producers later found O'Connell in full freak-out mode, shaking and sobbing uncontrollably. He was in no fit state to continue shooting a movie about the discovery of a dead body, so the crew gave him the time he needed to recover.
