10 Biggest Movie And TV News This Week (Aug 31)

1. Richard Attenborough Has Passed Away

August has not been a good month for Hollywood greats. Earlier this month we lost Robin Williams and Lauren Bacall in the same week; and now we've lost actor and director Richard Attenborough. Attenborough is most recognizable for his role of John Hammond in Jurassic Park, but was an Oscar-winning director and legendary actor with an astounding and varied resume. He began acting in the 1940s, and directed such films as A Chorus Line, Chaplin, Shadowlands, Cry Freedom, and Gandhi (for which Attenborough won Best Director and Best Picture). Attenborough's other prominent roles include films like The Great Escape, Ten Little Indians, Brighton Rock, 10 Rillington Place, and the Miracle on 34th Street reboot. Attenborough was 90 years old, and retired from acting a few years ago due to poor health. Our deepest condolences go out to Attenborough's family and his three children.
