It's no secret Warner Bros. are hoping to strike it big with their Godzilla reboot, and are looking to take full advantage of the various cross-platform potential for the film. Godzilla has been used in film, TV, comics, videogames, and more for 60 years, and if Gareth Edwards' reboot proves successful, WB may have another cash-cow franchise on their hands (to go along with their other tent-poles like the DC comics universe, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit). Nine days before Godzilla hits theaters, WB will release Godzilla: Awakening, a 72-page tie-in prequel comic. According to Variety, it will take place several decades before the events of the film, and will hint at more monsters than just Godzilla himself. Here's the official description:
