10 Biggest Parts Of The Marvel Movie Formula (That Will Destroy The Series)

4. Plot Resolution In Post-Credit Scenes

For the most part Marvel's post-credit scenes hit the mark. Howard The Duck was exactly what Guardians Of The Galaxy needed, while The Winter Soldier's introduction of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch was heavy with teases to the point it rivalled the Thanos reveal. But there's been a growing trend amongst them that is really cheapening the films. The Avengers introduced the idea of two stings and other films have ran with that. But rather than having one world-building and another for humour, we've been getting one laying groundwork for upcoming films and another rounding off a left-over plot thread. Thor: The Dark World had Thor return to Earth to be with Jane (pretty important thing that) so the film could end on the Loki twist, while Captain America: The Winter Soldier showed Bucky realise his true identity. Both were hinted at in the films themselves, but the scenes are so plot essential to have them reserved for fans who sit through ever-growing lists of special effect technicians isn't really smart. This is only emerging as a part of the formula now, but it'd be much appreciated if Kevin Feige could nip this one in the bud and keep the post-credit scenes as forward-thinking moments of awesomeness, not groan-inducing minutes that leave us questioning why we stuck around.
