10 Biggest WTF Moments In Recent Horror Movies

6. The Nerd Is Brutally Murdered - Fear Street 1978

Initially incorrectly written off as another lazy, nostalgia-baiting throwback horror (by me, anyway), the Fear Street trilogy proved to be a nice surprise earlier this year. It dabbled in the regular slasher tropes but had plenty of surprises of its own, including a killer out-of-nowhere death scene in the first movie we've talked about at length.

The WTF moment in question though comes in the second flick, the Friday the 13th pastiche Fear Street 1978, and isn't a major plot reveal but a regular old kill that's so shocking in its brutality.

As the axe-murderer has started his spree we pick up with some redshirts around the camp, including Jeremy. The designated 'nerd' of the group, poor Jez is bullied by his cooler camp-goers, verbally berated and then egged. He's down on his luck, and then to make things worse, the killer turns up on his doorstep.

Now, at this point you might think: Jeremy has been through enough, he's covered in yolk, maybe the axe-wielding maniac will take pity on him?

Not in this movie. Instead, Jeremy is brutally hacked to bits, getting one of the most undeserved deaths in the trilogy.
