10 Body Horror Movie Fates Worse Than Death

5. Tusk - Becoming A Walrus

Keeping with the theme of human hybrids that never should’ve happened, we have Kevin Smith’s 2014 Tusk.

A journalist, Wallace, is held captive by a crazy old man, hell-bent on breathing new life into ‘Mr. Tusk’, the walrus that saved him from a shipwreck years earlier. After being stranded, the man had to eventually eat his walrus companion and has carried guilt with him ever since.

It may be a comedy horror but there’s nothing funny about the nightmares this film prompts, seeing a man turned into a walrus with a pelt made of human skin and tusks of his own tibia bones.

By the time anyone comes to rescue Wallace, he has been conditioned to think and act like a walrus. The only place they can really put him is in a wildlife sanctuary, where he’s fed mackerel and lives the simple life of a walrus.

A peaceful life? Maybe not. We see at the end as he cries for his lost love that he still has humanity within him, but is destined to spend his days as a walrus made of the skin of dozens of murder victims, chewing on his mackarel with bits of his own leg bones.
