10 Box Office Hits From 2014 Which Should Have Bombed

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Budget: $125 million Box office: $477.2 million Proving that he doesn't need to be sitting behind the camera to ruin a potentially great franchise, Michael Bay took on the role of producer for this big budget version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, allowing underling Jonathan Liebesman to direct this travesty of a movie. Having evidently patched things up with Bay, Megan Fox stars as April O'Neil, the intrepid reporter who encounters the mutant turtles as she searches for breaking news. Packaged with all the charm of a corporate commercial and with plot and dialogue which seems to make the assumption that the audience is a complete fool, this is soulless, product placement ridden cash-in filmmaking at its worst. If you wanted to find a movie that represented everything that is wrong with Hollywood you'd be hard pushed to find a better example than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - that is, until the inevitable sequel arrives in cinemas in 2016. Do you agree that these box office hits really deserved to bomb? What other hits do you think didn't deserve to be successful? Why not let us know in the comments below?
