10 Brilliant Movie Villains Defeated In The DUMBEST Way Possible

9. Freddy Krueger - A Nightmare On Elm Street

Even though the Nightmare on Elm Street's quality blatantly declined with every entry, Robert Englund still gave his all as the dream killer, Freddy Krueger. As the sequels went into more campy territory, Englund portrayed the fedora-wearing maniac with more allure and magnetism without losing a shred of menace.

It isn't just Freddy's power over the dreamworld that makes him terrifying; it's his apparent invulnerability. Not only did he cheat death as a human, he seems unstoppable in his demonic form. Even when the souls of his victims tore him apart or his mother trapped his essence in time, he never seemed to stay down for good.

So, what do you have to do to put him out of his misery? Well, that question was answered in the 'last' entry in the series, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. In the climax, Freddy's daughter pulls him into the real world (just like the original film) and impales him with his own glove (just like in Dream Warriors). After that, she blows him up with a pipe bomb.

This uncreative death is made all the more ludicrous with an embarrassing CGI effect of Krueger's head flying around as his spirit dissolves.
