10 Brilliantly Awful Movie Ideas We Wish They Went Ahead With

2. Michael Jackson Plays Jareth In Labyrinth

Michael Jackson Here's one move you can bet the producers of Labryinth are sure glad they didn't make; they had flirted with the idea of casting another immensely popular singer in the role of King Jareth prior to David Bowie taking the role, and it was none other than the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. Though Jackson was obviously acquitted of the child abuse charges leveled against him, the stigma hasn't entirely gone way even posthumously, and so seeing Jackson as Jareth, kidnapping a baby and making untowards advances towards its sister would seem rather unsavoury, not to mention raised some uncomfortable, knowing giggles. Again, it would have been fascinating to observe - and also to see how the musical style of the film changed - but one that would probably have tarnished the film's legacy somewhat.
