Perhaps an obvious place to start with British actors who worked for Pixar, is with the particular film that was set in the British Isles, Brave. Like Michael Caine, there is no mistaking Billy Connolly's loud and proud accent, and even Kelly MacDonald's softer tones as Merida herself, can be recognised from her few but impressive appearances in the likes of Trainspotting and Boardwalk Empire. That's not to say that anyone with a Scottish accent is instantly recognisable, as the bigger parts and longer screen-time of both Merida and her father Fergus obviously help with placing their voices. Added to this is the fact that MacDonald and Connolly gave many interviews to promote the film, and it goes without saying that those providing voices for lesser characters are often the ones who go unnoticed. Also using his own native Scots accent is versatile actor Robbie Coltrane, who plays Lord Dingwall. Having been seen in two iconic British film franchises, James Bond and Harry Potter, as well as TV shows from BlackAdder to Cracker, Coltrane's performance is just one whose recognition is far less than he deserves.
