8. Eddie Izzard

Although it may not have been set wholly in the British Isles, the globe trotting Cars 2 did make a pit stop at London, and as such it featured a whole host of British characters alongside the likes of Hamilton. As is often the case with Hollywood films though, many were as much of a stereotypical cartoon as you would expect from an animated film; Topper Deckington perhaps being the best example. Voicing the rather British Range Rover Sir Miles Axelrod was non-other than eccentric stand up comedian Eddie Izzard. Although he begun his film career in comedies such as Ben Stiller's Mystery Men, it wasn't until 2006's Ocean's 12 that his career in American productions began to truly take off. This included TV series The Riches, but it was in the The Simpsons episode To Surveil, With Love which he caricatured not one but two members of the British royal family. Axelrod might not have been as regal as the Queen, or even Prince Charles, but did at least fulfil the Hollywood archetype of a British villain. Perhaps not the most original casting, but at least it came after the casting of a British hero ...
