10 Brutal Movies With The Biggest Body Counts

1. Kingdom Of Heaven

And finally, Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven may not be among his most acclaimed or beloved movies, but it sure is his bloodiest - especially if you watch the vastly superior Director's Cut.

The film touts a body count higher than most of Scott's other movies combined, the overwhelming majority of which are the result of stabbings, fiery trebuchet attacks, and arrow barrages during the medieval epic's many battle scenes, not to forget some drownings and a mobile fort accident.

Scott clearly relished the opportunity to squirt crimson squibs all over the place at every errant opportunity, such that the violence descends into near-comical levels of excess by film's end.

That's without even getting into the probably thousands of corpses in the background of the final battle whose deaths we never actually see.

Say what you will about the movie's much-debated view of the Crusades, but as a depiction of epic, viscera-soaked carnage, there are no other films quite so enthusiastic.
