3. "Mother?" - Bambi
Another definitive moment in Disney's sad storylines was when Bambi's mother died. Unlike most other films, there was no build up, no warning, it was all just so sudden. What makes this scene impact even more strongly is that moments beforehand Bambi and his mother were skipping around the fields in the sunshine, with birds chirping all around them, taking in the sights of their home together. The true tear trigger though, is when his mother is screaming at him to 'Run, Bambi!' Cue a nation of emotional wrecks, and people attempting to stifle their sobs in cinema screenings nationwide.
