10 Classic Movies Most People Lie About Having Seen

6. Taxi Driver

Martin Scorsese's expert analysis of the psychological breakdown of a lonely taxi driver is widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made. People rave about the film, many calling it Scorsese's greatest achievement. When you consider the stiff competition for that accolade (Raging Bull, Mean Streets, The Departed, After Hours, Goodfellas... you get the idea), you know it must be a great film. Which is why people may sheepishly claim to have seen the film when, in fact, they're talking out of their a*se. Everyone wants to have seen the classics, but they especially want to have seen the 'cool' classics. It's one thing to have seen some philosophical, silent, black-and-white European film, but it's another to have seen the edgy, violent one by one of the world's most famous directors. According to the LOVEFiLM research, eleven percent of people have lied about seeing Taxi Driver. Sort it out, eleven percent.
